Graduate Academic Mentor
·Minimum 2:1 in your degree
·Term-time only, Monday – Friday position
·School located in Harrow
·Shortlisting is happening continuously – starting in September
·You will have training and support given by your own mentor
·Academic role supporting students who need extra support and the high achievers who need pushing to the next level
·Paid between £400-£450 per week
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an incredibly interesting position where you will be able to able to fully utilise your subject knowledge in a school setting.
You will be working with your own intervention groups that could consist working with students individually or on a small group basis (2-3 students). This could consist of working with low ability students or the high achievers who need help to reach the greater depth of understanding of concepts within your subject. You could also be working and motivating students with their A-Levels and GCSE preparations too in order for them to achieve the best they can.
You will need to liaise with and work collaboratively with the subject teachers to ensure students are receiving the support that they need.
You will need to have a 2.1 in your degree (various disciplines considered) as well as obtaining a strong set of A- Levels.
Ideally, you will have previous work experience with young people and will have a confident, passionate and endearing nature. It will be essential that you are a good communicator, both written and verbal, as you will be required to liaise with students, parents and staff.
Lastly, you will have a genuine commitment to education and a clear passion for your subject. This role will provide you with excellent experience which will prove to be invaluable to any further training you may partake in future.
