What the school expect from you:

You will need to have a minimum 2:1 in your degree, various degree types and backgrounds are welcomed, in addition to a good set of A-Levels and GCSEs. The role will require you to have a patient and resilient nature to ensure that you get the best out of your students. If you do have some experience working with young people, in any setting, then it will be an advantage to you but it is by no means a requirement. The school will expect you to have a genuine and caring personality that is serious about wanting to support their students both academically and socially.

What is required in the role?

You will be working the majority of the time on a 1:1 basis with EAL pupils who need extra support in the classroom with their studies. You will be supporting them with any potential academic or social issues that they may face being an EAL student. You will be working closely with the class teacher in preparing different intervention sessions and progress reports on the students so you can both work together to ensure progress and attainment. You will also be liaising closely with the Head teacher and with the parents so that you, the school and the parents are all working together to move forward!
