Graduate Pastoral Mentor – Bury – Start ASAP

This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with SEN/SEMH in a Secondary school in Bury!

Are you interested in working in education, but unsure whether teaching is the path for you?

Perhaps you have a passion for pastoral support rather than academic support?

Do you have experience working with young people who may have special educational needs or other social, emotional and mental health needs?

There is a huge demand across Secondary Schools for passionate people to support SEN and SEMH pupils in a pastoral role. We are looking to give an engaging and resilient graduate the opportunity to gain paid experience, whilst making a difference, before going onto further training in education!

You will provide support in lessons, identifying causes and triggers of pupil problems and working on strategies to support individual pupils. Providing 1:1 support and mentoring small groups of pupils will be the main basis of the role. As a pastoral mentor you will liaise with parents, carers, teachers and colleagues in order to establish support plans to best help students throughout their academic year.
