This is a fabulous opportunity for a Graduate Pastoral Mentor who can work in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs department of a vibrant secondary school in Camden!

Their supportive SEN Team are looking to take on a creative and passionate graduate to join their team and support this pupil to achieve their potential and access the Curriculum.

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – SEMH

  • Ideal for a graduate with a keen interest in SEMH or SEN
  • Support on a 1:1 basis
  • Full-Time 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant role
  • Paid £350 – £450 per week
  • Supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs

You will need to have:

  • You will have a minimum 2:1 degree – various subject disciplines considered!
  • Previous experience working with young people in challenging circumstances
  • Some understanding of SEN
  • Patience and resilience
  • Ability to see the bigger picture

The role will involve running support sessions, ranging from 1:1 to group interventions to target the support required with those pupils who have additional needs, both inside and outside of the classroom.

You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure that the right provisions are put in place so that they are able to reach their potential and enjoy their school experiences.

It is essential that you are able to remain patient and resilient during challenging times and it is important that you are able to demonstrate previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/ SEMH.

The school is located in the Camden area of North London and is close to convenient transport links that will ensure a stress-free commute. Furthermore the school has a really supportive senior leadership team who are devoted to exploring new approaches in teaching and learning.
