Graduate Pastoral Mentor – Gateshead – September 2023 Start – Full Academic Year!

Are you a recent Psychology, Sociology or Education Studies based graduate with a desire to find a Graduate Pastoral Mentor role supporting secondary students with SEMH needs?

In this role as an Graduate Pastoral Mentor, you will be supporting students across the schools KS3 & KS4 department struggling with their social, emotional and mental health needs outside of the classroom environment providing vital 1:1 support.

You will earn £85 per day during term time in a Monday to Friday role until the end of the academic year in July 2024. You will also have free access to multiple online CPD college courses in topics such as SEN, Safeguarding and Mental Health Awareness.

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – Role Information:

• Full academic year
• Located in Gateshead (NE2)
• Based inside of ONE secondary academy
• Monday to Friday role – Usual school working hours
• Paid £440 per week during term time
• FREE access to online CPD college courses – SEN, Safeguarding & Mental Health
• Planning and conducting 1:1 support for KS3 & KS4 students
• Creating engaging and supportive sessions
• Being patient and understanding regarding pupils progress

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – Applicant Requirements:

• Minimum 2:1 Core subject based degree
• Strong academic background
• Prior experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring or volunteering
• Naturally outgoing and supportive individual
• Passionate about educating young people
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Ability to develop rapport with young people quickly
