Graduate Primary Learning Assistant – the role

  • Graduate Primary Learning Assistant
  • Work within a team of Graduate Primary Learning Assistants
  • Create an inclusive learning environment for students
  • Provide interventions for individuals, small groups and whole classes
  • Record progress and achievement of assigned pupils
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Promote learner autonomy
  • Deliver personal care where necessary
  • Supervise pupils on school visits

Graduate Primary Learning Assistant – person specification

  • Excellent degree results in a relevant discipline
  • Strong academic background
  • Previous tutoring experience preferred
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Ability to use ICT in the classroom
  • Good organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding of children
