As an Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will utilise your existing skills to support the class teacher and the class. You will have the opportunity to cover the class when needed, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment is created.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant – The Role

• Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEN Department
• Start ASAP
• Provide 1-1 support to students and group support within lessons
• Liaise with the SENCo
• Support the class teacher and provide occasional cover when necessary
• Plan your own activities to integrate into the lesson

Higher Level Teaching Assistant – The School

• Primary school: Nursery – Year 6
• Children have severe and complex learning difficulties
• Personalised learning environment to encourage independence and build confidence
• Ofsted rated as ‘Outstanding’ school
• Close transport links
• Inner London school

Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

• 2:1 Degree or above
• Strong academic background e.g. A-Levels
• Passion for supporting children with complex needs
• Demonstrable experience working with children with complex needs
• Personable and professional manner
• Experience working with children – desirable
