Sixth Form Tutor – Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore, question, and discover.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, technology, and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding and retention.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to ensure student success and holistic development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to curriculum development initiatives.

Sixth Form Tutor – Person Specification

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
  • Previous experience working with sixth form students, either as a tutor, teacher, or mentor.
  • Have experience of teaching KS3, and GCSE Level
  • ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Passion for education and a genuine interest in supporting the academic and personal development of young people.
  • Have knowledge of innovative teaching strategies that will raise attainment and instil a passion for learning Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
  • Commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school/community.
