SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job description: £450-£550 per week term time only / Located in Wandsworth / Immediate start / Supportive secondary school / CPD opportunities / Full-time, yearlong contract

This Specialist Provision, rapidly expanding and increasing in pupil capacity, are seeking an inspiring, energetic and flexible SEMH Teaching Assistant, able to inspire and redirect the energies of young and disaffected students, to join their small, close-knit team as soon as possible.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Pre-Requisites

  • Core Degree from British University
  • Patient and nurturing disposition
  • Confident and outgoing personality, whilst remaining capable of a professional persona
  • Experience working with Additional Needs or younger children advantageous

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Benefits

Teaching Assistant – The Role

  • SEMH Teaching Assistant role
  • All pupils are at risk of exclusion, or have been excluded, from mainstream education, and some may have SEN, diagnosed or otherwise
  • To meet the varied and complex needs of disaffected pupils
  • To re-engage students with education
  • Foster a safe learning environment, free of stigma and negativity
  • Establish nurturing and supportive relationships
