SEN Learning Support Assistant – Role Description

  • SEN Learning Support Assistant role
  • Long-term, until July 2022 (with potential to return in September)
  • Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:45pm
  • Paid teaching placement £82 – £90 per day (term-time only)
  • Offer learning support throughout the school
  • Focus on supporting pupils with SEN
  • Lead 1:1 and small group-based intervention sessions
  • Be an integral part of the learning support staff team
  • Help children reach their academic, social, and emotional goals

SEN Learning Support Assistant – Person Specification

  • Minimum 2:1 grade in any subject (Psychology degree would be advantageous)
  • Good academic background
  • Knowledge of SEN
  • Prior experience supporting young pupils with SEN would be advantageous
  • Friendly and confident personality
  • Aspirations to become an SEN Teacher or Primary Teacher
